Welcome to the MEA Website

The Media Ecology Association (MEA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the study, research, criticism, and application of media ecology in educational, industry, political, civic, social, cultural, and artistic contexts, and the open exchange of ideas, information, and research among the Association’s members and the larger community.

Read more about our organization, learn about our journal Explorations in Media Ecology (and recommend it to your library), grab virtual coffee with a media ecologist, and consider supporting us with a donation or using our AmazonSmile link.

COVID-19 Update

Given the present situation in the New York metro area, it is very difficult to imagine any scenario where the MEA 2020 convention can take place in its traditional form. The MEA Board is exploring possibilities for a virtual convention, and we will make a decision at our (virtual!) meeting on April 4.

I hope everyone is doing as well as your circumstances allow. Please be on the lookout for more information from the MEA board, and join us in June in whatever way we are able to come together as a community.

—Dr. Peggy Cassidy, MEA 2020 Convention Coordinator
